This rustically chic eatery, with a cuisine heavy on creative farm-to-table cooking, has been causing a stir with locals since it opened at the end of the year on Greenville Avenue. This isn’t strange considering that the kitchen is led by one of the city’s best cooks (and minority owner), Graham Dodds, who is also responsible for putting Henderson Avenue’s Hibiscus cafe on the gourmet map. It’s part of a renowned, family-owned mini-chain (fifteen overall, with twelve in the DFW area) that began in 1986 with the establishment of Dallas’ first Salvadoran eatery. Like with the first, there is a focus on Salvadoran food, with specialties such as pupusas (griddled tortillas stuffed with cheese and meat) and cooked plantains covered with sour cream. But, the menu also includes tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas, as well as grilled quail, pork tenderloin, and even ribeye steak.
